Garment Care & Print Guidelines

At DTF Print Worx, we want your custom-printed garments to stay looking bold, vibrant, and long-lasting. Follow these simple care instructions and guidelines to get the very best out of your prints.

Artwork Guidelines

Before we print your design, please make sure your artwork follows these requirements for the best possible results:

File Format: PNG with a transparent background or a vector file.
Resolution: 300 DPI recommended for sharp, detailed prints.
Colour Mode: RGB (do not convert to CMYK).
Image Setup: No need to mirror your artwork — we’ll handle it.
Copyright: Please ensure all artwork is copyright-owned or authorised. We cannot print unlicensed or unauthorised designs.

By following these guidelines, you’ll ensure your designs print exactly as you envisioned.

Garment Washing Instructions

To keep your prints looking fresh and to maximise garment life:

Wash garments inside out to protect the design.
Wash at 30°C – 40°C, or follow the care label of your garment.
Avoid using fabric softener.
Do not tumble dry if possible — air drying will preserve both the fabric and print.
Iron garments inside out on a low setting. Do not iron directly on the print.

Heat Press Application Instructions

When applying your transfers, follow these steps:

Pre-press the garment for 5 seconds to remove moisture.
Place the transfer in position.
Press at 160°C – 170°C for 15–20 seconds with medium pressure.
Hot peel the PET film (our current film is warm peel – please check for updates).
Cover with a sheet of parchment paper or Teflon and press again for 5–10 seconds to lock in the design.

Aftercare Tips

Store transfers in a cool, dry place before use.
Avoid stretching or pulling on printed areas when wet.
For long-lasting vibrancy, avoid over-washing and excessive exposure to heat.
